The History of Kniffing's Landscape

Kniffing’s Landscape have provided landscaping and outdoor services to property owners and families since 2019. However, founder Josh Kniffing's roots are deeply embedded in the world of landscaping - given that his family has owned a Nursery business since 1927.

Kniffing's Nursery is a multi-generational family business that turned a passion for plants, gardening, and landscape design into a company that would allow the family to share this love with others. To this day, Josh credits his business acumen and passion for the outdoors to his Father's leadership during this time. 

"Growing up, my dad would take me to different job sites, teaching me every aspect and detail of the business," says Josh, "Their passion for the work, integrity in the business, and seeing such satisfied clients made me realize that I would one day walk in their footsteps and carry on the family nursery legacy." 

Josh obtained a Nursery and Landscape Certificate to take his experience to the next level and opened Kniffing’s Landscape in 2019 to put his skills to the test. With decades of experience under his belt, Josh brought together a team of gardening experts whose work would go on to bring smiles to their client's faces.

Combining a genuine passion for the great outdoors with practical knowledge and skills, the team at Kniffing’s Landscape is more able to guide, inspire, and service clients in their ultimate gardening creations. 

The Nursery.

Kniffing's Nursery is a family-operated nursery that has been in business since 1927. Nearing 100 years of service, they have the largest selections of roses and fruit trees in San Diego County, alongside a collection of trees, shrubs, palms, and garden accessories.  At Kniffing’s Landscape, many of the materials and products we use to bring our customer's gardens to life are sourced from this Nursery. This includes:

• Fertilizer
• Flowers
